Reading about what apes plan to do with tendies. Pay off their debts, pay off other people's debt, buy medical debt, plant gardens and forests, pay living wages, clean the oceans, travel... it gave me hope. Oh and it's been really nice having something to obsess over and learn about that's not directly connected to work.

I had just moved to Florida because I was tired of ballin' in the cold then 1 day I heard about GameStop, I read some DD in between watchin my girl dance and I called up my friend, Carla, from back in the day. I said is this legal!? We gotta look into this. One day me and Carla hope to reunite at the police force to arrest some hedgies.

This was my first year in the market. My favorite memory was getting paid my first dividend.

Back in dec i was buying gamestop stocks to save a company i always loved and went to go buy my favorite video games and products. Well the stock price went from $20 to $380. I was using robinhood and well that sucked ass when the buy button went missing. Well the price shot down to $40, i wanted to hit myself. Fuck robinhood and brokers that took away that choice what to do with my money.

Seeing DFV’s yolo post! Thought I was gonna make a quick buck. Oh how things have come about since then. I would have never thought because of this I’ve learned so much in such a short time about market manipulation and how rigged our system is. I had an idea but nothing to the extent that’s been uncovered. What a wild ride. To thinks it’s not even close to being over.

I had heard that something going on with Gamestop for a while before I really started looking into everything but a user trying to get across the importance of it all to the world is what really blew me away and got me fully invested.

I thought, "How dare this broker tell me what I can and can't do with my own money." "This is not right." From that moment I was launched into an era of enlightenment. Thanks to DL and so many others for peeling back the layers, igniting our passion, and paving the way for the next generation of investors.

I had been in for a couple of months, and the thesis was being proven correct. Then they changed the rules to benefit themselves. No issues if the price had gone down organically, but it was an artificial drop caused by turning off the buy button. Terribly unfair.

My journey started simple enough, trying to figure out this whole stock market thing. I ran across the Great DFV post, a simple to understand strategy: buy and hold. I still get it. I made my first investment, a silly market order that executed that Monday from when I placed it over the weekend. The rest as they say is history. I've learned so much! The fuckery!
