I remember the moment several brokers took the buy button away - my wife and I were screaming watching the price action, while I was checking reddit and twitter - voila we witnessed blatant crime and we had to HODL harder even to this day. I'll never forget that moment. That was the moment I new this was going to be a war for transparency and fairness for retail. I knew we would eventually win if we keep HODLing and yelling for effective reform, holding the regulators and politicians accountable

Being a passive and low risk investor for the duration of my investing life, I would never have been caught up in the GameStop story, but I started reading and watching roaringkitty videos and jumped in head first. After watching the price go from 20 to 483, removal of robinhoods buy button, and then back down to 40, I was hooked. The amount of corruption in the financial market was illuminating. Now that I’ve been in GameStop for over a year, I am here for change.

DFV doubling down is the best:

My favorite memory is buying my first share of GME. At the moment I didn't think much of it. Now I look back and smile. It brought together an enormous, great community of all walks of life. Working together to unearth market bad actors. Used to think the market was corrupt. Now I know just how deep the rabbit hole goes.

It's hard to choose a favorite when there are new ones everyday. This is really one of the greatest things I've been apart of thus far in my life. I've really just taken the 30,000ft view of this and it's amazing to watch it play out as a moment in history. I truly don't care about the price anymore. I continue to buy and hold.

When they shut off the buy button, they lit the match. The match ignited the fire that burns strongly with retail shining light in to the dark recesses of fuckery.

I had been looking into the AMC movement and learning more to try and pull myself out of a deep depression after the sudden passing of my father in 2020. The pandemic wasn't helping with all of the isolation, and I just felt very lost and hopeless. When I heard the buy button had been taken away, a fire started under my ass, and I finally had motivation to jump into the fray. I muttered to myself, "don't threaten me with a good time" as I opened an account on WeBull, deciding right then and there I was an Ape, that this was a cause greater than myself worth fighting for, that this was a group of people sticking it to the Man who was content to order everyone else around but not obey their own rules. And I thought "fuck those guys; they created all of this for their own benefit, it's time for it to stop". That's where it all started. I am so grateful for this community, and I have hope that this will be the beginning of a new wave of economic freedom, and put some kick behind the notion of "life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness". A pursuit that lingers with the smell of popcorn, the sense of community among games we all played as kids, a newfound hope that my niece will grow up in a world with people who continue to gather together without fear, and enjoy life for all of the beauty it can offer. I am an Ape, I will never leave!

One year to the day. I bought into AMC prior to this date not knowing of all of the corruption behind the scenes. Between then and now, the people have woken up and realized that we are being fucked harder than we ever realized. We banded together and exposed how wealthy pieces of shit steal from us illegally with no repercussions. We hold because we know that ultimately, we will fuck them in the end. We won and will change the market moving forward. Happy to be part of this with all those who hold AMC, GME, and others.

As the GameStop manipulation unfolded I realized I needed to ensure my kids understood how the market is supposed to work, how it was being manipulated and how average Americans were engaging in a battle to save the economic system (i.e. average Americans and international investors). The ensuing conversations, which included Twitter and Reddit feeds, TikTok videos - most found by the kids- and the memes that taught in moments what college classes spread over 30 hours. As a mom, I treasure these conversations that transcended generational perspective. I believe there are countless parents, like me, watching their children's understanding and curiosity grow in ways they never expected. I will cherish these discussions and always be thankful for DFV and the Apes- true economic zeitgeists leading a revolution.

Watching Keith Gill be right. I believe retail owes so much to research, endurance, and his patience. During the beginning of all this the support, community, and people coming together from all areas, religions, political parties to stand up for what is right.

I remember seeing GameStop soar and thinking about how crazy it was. I had seen the posts on wsb, but I never made a move. I didn’t have much money and I had only opened a brokerage account a month prior. However once the prices dropped at the beginning of February I bought some and I continue to buy more with each paycheck now. Hodling strong, better late than never!

I remember that day felt very powerful despite the buy button being taken from us. People were realizing how fundamentally broken our “free market” really was. The rally afterwards was incredible. The Reddit memes, hype videos, social media posts. We were ramping up against the very greedy corrupt entities that conspired against our freedoms.
